Commonwealth Shooting Federation Championship Results 8th-10th September 2022

Commonwealth Shooting Federation European Division (CSF-ED) Championships

Thursday 8th – Saturday 10th September 2022

What a fabulous week hosting the CSF-ED for the Olympic Trap and Olympic Skeet Disciplines. We welcomed teams from England, Gibraltar, Jersey, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

Training on both disciplines Tuesday and Wednesday, technical meeting 2pm Wednesday, competition started 10am Thursday, a surprise gathering in the clubhouse to wish Welsh Shooter Chloe Davies a very Happy 16th Birthday. Sadly, later that day we heard the passing of Queen Elizabeth II. Thursday evening some uncertainty if the event continued, news came late Thursday evening from the Lord Lieutenant’s Office with guidance for the competition to go ahead.

10am Friday morning everyone gathered in front of the clubhouse for a minute’s silence and the lowering of the flags, before starting Day 2 of the competition.

9am start Saturday morning, final scores collated ex 125, top eight in both men and women events, for both disciplines, competed in a ISSF format final with flash targets.

The event concluded with an enjoyable Banquet and Medal presentation at Sport Wales, Sophia Gardens, Cardiff, a wonderful gathering of all target and shooting disciplines.

Thank you to the Welsh Target Shooting Federation (WTSF); Martin Watkins, John Dalimore and Richard Stepney for the arrangement of this event with Wales being the host Country.

Congratulations to all the medal winners and well done to everyone.

A huge thank you to all the referees, helpers, volunteers, team managers and everyone involved to make this event such a successful and enjoyable time. A very special thank-you to Angie Oliver for the smooth running of the Office.

All in all, what a pleasure and enjoyable event to host.

Best wishes,

The Lewis Family X
