WELCOME 

The Lewis family welcomes you to Griffin-Lloyd Shooting Ground.  A family business, established in 1990, we located in the heart of the countryside on the Welsh/English border.

Griffin-Lloyd offers a wide variety of clay target shooting  to suit your needs whether an national/international athlete wishing to stay at the top of your game or a novice looking to try something new and exciting.   

 

As a WCTSA / CPSA Ground we hold registered competitions, open for practice for registered Shotgun Certificate holders, we offer ‘Have-A-Go’ experience and individual lesson available for those who want to try clay target shooting for the first time and coaching available for shooters who want to improve.  

 

We hold Welsh Target Shooting Federation and British shooting training camps for the Academy/ Pathway and Elite. 

The shooting ground provides clay shooters an option of disciplines; 26 English Sporting stands include high tower ranging up to 135 ft, 2 covered Olympic Trap/ABT layouts, 2 Down-the-Line and Olympic Skeet.   

 

Cosy wooden frame Clubhouse provides tea/coffee/soft drinks, snacks, indoor/outdoor seating, Wood burner, toilets. Plenty of car parking, cartridges available to purchase on site.

 

Cash and BAC’s payments are accepted.

The sporting layout offers 26 stands, each with a minimum of two traps; 2 High Towers ranging up to 135 ft, Grouse Butt, teal, driven, going away, rabbits, loopers, overhead, crossers, quartering located in a timber valley connected by a gravel track giving the option to walk or drive round.   

  

The Promatic clay trap release systems allows the shooter the full flexibility of not only solo shooting, but also the choice of targets, order and sequence on any of our 26 clay target sporting stands.  Sporting stand 1 to 15 offer challenging targets for all abilities, includes a ‘friend & family’ area for beginners.  Sporting stand 3 to 9 are covered by timber framed building, no need to worry about the weather.   Sporting stands 16 to 26 offer challenging testing targets. 

 

Valid Shotgun Certificate holders welcome to guide themselves around the stands, non-certificate holders may only shoot if supervised by one of our coaches.  Have-A-Go experience and Individual lessons are available by booking in advance.

 

The use of cartridges with a load exceeding 28g is strictly prohibited.  The maximum permitted shot size is No.6. 

 

Ear, eye and head protection must be worn at all times on the shooting ground.  All persons using these facilities do so at their own risk.
